We’re heading back into the water again this week, and this time around we’re challenging a swordfish to a duel! Well, in poetry, at least. 😉
Swordfish are masterful underwater predators, using their long, sharp bills to slash at schools of fish, stunning or injuring prey in order to gobble them up.
Seafood lovers rejoice – the North Atlantic Swordfish is also a good dining option, as it isn’t currently under threat from over-fishing – hopefully it will stay that way!
The Summer Reading Club is in full swing at my library, and it always fills my cup to see so many families excitedly take part in this annual tradition. The rules are simple, but powerful – do your best to make reading a part of your daily routine. That’s it! Read what you want, where you want, in whatever format you want, for however long you want – what matters is the consistency.
I’m sure I’ve said it a million times before, but letting your child’s interests direct their reading goes a long way towards raising an enthusiastic reader. We’re currently in a Pokemon phase, and thankfully there are more than enough Pokemon books at the library to keep this voracious little reader satisfied!
