SHARE YOUR ART Passive Program

February 7, 2023February 2, 2023 Jane the Raincity Librarian Post a comment

I recently transferred to a new branch, and I now have a much larger children’s area with a big, bright, beautiful window where we can display children’s artwork. My plan is put out a different prompt every month and encourage children to bring their artwork up to the information desk so we can put it up in the window and bring some extra colour to the space. I created a simple sign in Canva and put it out on one of the tables in the children’s space, together with some coloring supplies.

I also created a simple art prompt by taking a free coloring page and using ms paint to erase the flowers from the design. Children can then draw their own flowers, creating a unique spring bouquet.

Winter is grey, dreary and depressing here in Vancouver, so I’m hoping that we can bring a little bit of spring colour into the library to hold us over until spring finally makes its long-awaited appearance!
