poverty in picture books

Whether it’s pickles, tomatoes, anything slimy or anything red, many children experience “pickiness”, an unwillingness to eat or drink certain things. These five picture books feature picky eaters, and while they might not convince your little one to finally give the lima beans a try, they’ll at least bring a smile to your face!

Bread and Jam for Frances is such a perfect book. This is a good reminder to me, though, that even the best books have thematic company!
