Amazing posts you might have missed!

Today I’m diving into the archives and highlighting some posts from the past few years that you might have missed.

Did you know I’ve been blogging since 2014?! That’s 10 years! I can hardly believe it. Where has the time gone?

Way back in 2014, when I was a newly-hired auxiliary librarian with two large library systems, I shared some tips for success when doing outreach in the community, especially when you’re naturally shy.

In 2015 I attended an inspiring Welcome to Kindergarten training workshop, and shared some takeaways about support early literacy.

In 2016, I shared a few storytime songs that can easily be adapted for use with different age groups – work smarter, not harder, I always say!

2017 saw the publication of my first picture book, Wild One, which wound up on the Toronto Public Library’s First and Best list. I couldn’t have been more excited!

In 2018 I shared a bit about a reading mentorship program held at my library – which I’m happy to say I still regularly facilitate all these years later.

2019 made me a mummy, and I shared a few of my son’s first board books.

In 2020, I encouraged my readers to support local independent bookstores, and shared a few of my favourite B.C. shops.

2021 saw me back at work after maternity leave, and I shared a fun, low-involvement display idea – the sticky-note wall!

One of my books ended up on the Toronto Public Library First and Best list in 2022, with ANIMALS MOVE earning a coveted spot.

And finally, in 2023 I shared a bit about how I plan my weekly arts and crafts after school library program!

Here’s to 10 years of blogging at Raincity Librarian, and hoping for many, many more to come!

It helps that I just write about whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like it. ;-D
