Last week I was thrilled to share a very big announcement – my third picture book, Queenie Quail Can’t Keep Up, will be published by Pajama Press in March 2019!! Be sure to check out that post for all the book details!

In honour of Queenie and all her feathered relations, I’m sharing a little ditty celebrating these adorable little birds.

Hurry scurry

Scurry hurry

Pitter patter

Don’t delay!

Hustle bustle

Bustle hustle

Tippy tappy

Every day!

I can’t wait to share Queenie and her family with you in March, and if you’re particularly eager you can preorder a copy of Queenie Quail Can’t Keep Up wherever you purchase books.

Have a great weekend!

I’m feeling a bit like that myself these days, we’ve already started planning next year’s summer programming, so it’s scurry hurry every day!

Hip hip hooray for you and Queenie Quail, Jane! I’m quite partial to quail after living in New Mexico and watching them dart past our back fence. Cutest. birds. ever. No doubt that March release date will hustle bustle its way here before you know it!

Aren’t they just the cutest?! They have such oversized characters in their roly poly little bodies. 🙂

It really is exciting, Jane, and a fun topic we don’t see much about. I’ve loved seeing quail throughout different outdoor adventures, and now they’ll have a story! Congratulations!

Hooray! I’m so glad to meet Queenie. I was out of town at a conference last week and didn’t keep up with Poetry Friday. So, I missed the announcement. I’m just delighted for you…and more for the little hands this book will end up in. I love your smart rhymes for little ones. Keep writing!
