Poetry Friday: Slowly, Slowly

poetry

My book launch is tomorrow and I leave for vacation in a week and it snowed last night and I have everything to do and so little time to get in all done. And so, in honour of my current state of mind and the fact that I am planning a return trip to Japan, I thought it fitting to share a haiku from the master that captures my current state of mind. If a snail can climb Mount Fuji, I can conquer my to-do list….right?

“O snail
Climb Mount Fuji
But slowly, slowly!”

Thankfully the snow is all gone! I do hope it decides to stay away for a while now! I might be Canadian, but I’m a West Coast Canadian, and we don’t do snow. 😉

Hurrah, the day has come! And slowly, slowly, you’ve even managed a PF post, Jane. Happy Day tomorrow, and happy vacation next week! I don’t know this haiku, and love it. Perhaps it is one we all need to post for ourselves!

Sometimes when times get the craziest is when you need poetry the most! 🙂

And thank you! I had a wonderful time with old friends and new friends, and I truly do feel blessed by all the support I received. A wonderful day!

Thank you! It was a really lovely afternoon – shy Jane needs a bit of downtime after all that socialising, but it was lovely!

Woo hoo! I hope the launch is a rousing success and everything you hope for. Enjoy all the busy-ness. It seems your life is full to the brim with good things even if it does bring a towering to-do list.

That’s exactly the way I need to look at it – I’m busy, but it’s all really exciting things, and a change in mindset can really make a world of difference!

Yes, I need to really work on savouring and really being in the present – I’m always looking ten steps ahead, instead of stopping to really experience each moment.

And the book launch was an absolute blast. ^_^

I actually used to work at the Strawberry Hill library back in the day! Alas there were no strawberries to be had. 😉

That is funny. You’d think people would have had to bring them to share, just because the name was always reminding them.

Good luck with all Jane, and I hope the book launch is a smashing success! I’m short on time with a very long list of to do’s so I can empathize with you. Love that image too, thanks!
