October 20, 2017 Jane the Raincity Librarian 13 comments

This week I’m offering a gently steaming cup of tea (in poetic form) to soothe and restore you. May it ease your troubles and bring a smile to your face.

Tea

Tomas Denson

Sitting, drinking tea while watching the rain come wandering down
a smile brought on by cool breeze on misted skin
steam rising from the cup in front, the fragrant herbs steeping
and cascading come memories of other times
of once close people and far away places
and endless cups of tea

Beautiful metaphor from a simple cup of tea, so many memories, warmth and calm. I’m ready for that cup of tea, thanks for this relaxing, layer poem Jane!

Love this. I could feel the steam as I read it. I’ve been drinking hot tea most of last week, but as it’s warming up, I’ll have to wait a few days to enjoy it again. Hot tea and memories…

Sitting in the cool morning, holding hands around that cup to warm them does bring the memories. Thanks, Jane, a wonderful moment in this poem.

What a lovely poem to send to friends….I’m sure many of us have our tea during Poetry Friday reading. I’ve missed you, friend. Good to see poetry here. Is it raining in BC? We need some this side of the continent. Send it soon.

I’m having a cuppa and enjoying a waffle while my pup sits there and hopes I drop some. Thanks for bringing us this soothing moment! (And great photo!)
